Rafaela Rica, CEO of Albania’s Iceberg Communication, founded the business in 1999 at the age of 23. The company provides advertising, media and public relations services. With the support of Italy, Luxembourg and Sweden, and the EBRD’s advisory programme, the company was able to define an ambitious business and investment plan, in order to develop its professional marketing function internally. This was complemented by access to finance under the EBRD’s Women in Business programme from Intesa Sanpaolo Bank. Within a year, Iceberg’s turnover had increased 87 per cent and its productivity was up by 70 per cent.
